Saturday, March 5th at 21.00, MIKK Murska Sobota »I used to fall into a trance when I played live. Not anymore. I play these songs, they make people cry and some do. I don't look at them. I don't know how to make friends, I don't know how to live but I know how to make people cry.« Sixteen years have passed since Kathleen Yearwood began shaping her bold, cynical and gloomy craft. The Canadian writer, activist and musician (singer and guitar player) has been carefully compared to Meira Asher and Veda Hille and carelessly compared to Tori Amos, too. She has self-released six albums and her last one, Ordeal, might be her least experimental work, even though, to quote Kathleen again, this »filthy grind opera« merges what seems impossible to merge: acoustic folk, improvisation, noise and even grind. Most of her albums were self-released on Voice of the Turtle Records: her debut Panik and Death, Book of Hate (1994), Little Misery Birds (1997), Universal Incest EP (2002) and last year's Ordeal. The cover album Dog Logic was released on Subterranean Records in 2000. Kathleen Yearwood's solo performance on Rdeče zore is part of her small Slovenian and Croatian tour. On all the other concerts, she will be accompanied by Reg Elder on bass.
